Dr. Williamson spent several years as a Wellness Coordinator for the NASA/Langley Research Center before discovering her love of teaching. She left that position to begin what would become a 15-year career in education as a full-time Professor teaching Anatomy & Physiology and Nutrition to undergraduate pre- nursing students. Though she loved helping students attain their academic and career goals, she decided to pursue a long-term goal of her own – working towards a Doctorate degree—which meant she had to resign her full-time teaching position. After earning her doctorate, Dr. Williamson returned to teaching and clinical practice. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and continues to practice in an outpatient clinical setting using her advanced training in manual therapy, dry needling, spinal manipulation, and pelvic floor health to help patients. In addition, Dr. Williamson is a co-author on a series of popular A&P texts published by Elsevier Publishing. She is an active member of several professional groups, including the Human Anatomy & Physiology Society, American Physical Therapy Association, American College of Sports Medicine, and the Textbook Authors Association. She has been the recipient of several achievement and excellence awards and has a life- long love of learning as evidenced by her continued participation in educational and advanced learning opportunities. As a proud graduate of the MS in HAPI program (class of 2014), Dr. Williamson is excited to teach HAP 5140 - Endocrine System; Cardiovascular System and ITP 5140 at the ¾ÅÉ«µ¼º½.
