Biosketch
Dr. Kim Wieringa is Founding Principal Faculty and Admissions Coordinator for the 九色导航 Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program. She began her academic training with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at the University of Georgia, followed by a Dietetic Internship and Master of Science in Health in Dietetics at the University of North Florida. Upon earning her credential as a Registered Dietitian, she developed a broad scope of clinical expertise through both consulting and clinical practice, with a special interest in enteral and parenteral nutrition support, while simultaneously contributing to higher education by teaching undergraduate nutrition at two universities. These early academic and clinical experiences established the foundation for her lifelong commitment to health sciences education. Dr. Wieringa subsequently advanced her professional training by earning a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida College of Medicine and later a Doctor of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg. Her clinical career has been dedicated primarily to academic hospital medicine, where she has refined her expertise in acute and complex patient care. She also holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hospital Medicine (CAQ-HM), underscoring her commitment to advanced clinical competency in this specialty. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Wieringa has consistently invested in the education and mentorship of future Pas. She has precepted clinical-year PA students throughout her career and views this role as a professional responsibility to strengthen the PA profession. She also contributes nationally to the profession through her volunteer service with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), where she has participated for several years in the PANCE and PANRE Forms Review and Key Validation processes. Since 2023, she has transitioned her primary focus to full-time academia.
